Architecture Intent
Strategic Vision
- What we are building: A multi-layered Architecture Intelligence Platform that autonomously bridges the gap between Business Intent, Architectural Decisioning, and Code Implementation.
- Why it exists: To eliminate the governance bottleneck created by 15:1 reasoning-to-validation velocity gaps and to ensure that architecture continuously participates in the development lifecycle rather than lagging behind it.

Current State Alignment
The system is currently in a 'Critical' alignment state due to an Authority Paradox where the Architecture Work Registry is being used as a source of truth without formal ADR backing. There is significant 'Persistence Lag' where implemented features lack formal architectural acceptance.
Focus Areas / Roadmap
- Governance Backlog Triage: Archive stale proposals to reduce cognitive load (Immediate).
- Authority Formalization: Draft and approve ADR for the Architecture Work Registry (High Priority).
- Persistence Remediation: Retroactively formalize 'Rule Context' and 'Pattern Classification' into ADRs (High Priority).
- Schema Migration: Transition ADR and AW artifacts to structured JSON/YAML formats (Medium Priority).
- Business Intent Integration: Implement initial 'Business Intent Schema' and alignment engine (Medium Priority).
Gaps & Tensions (Risks)
- Velocity Asymmetry: 15:1 ratio of reasoning proposals to human validation capacity.
- Authority Paradox: The Architecture Work Registry operates as the authoritative backlog without a formal ADR-based mandate.
- Persistence Lag: Features marked 'DONE' in the AEM lack corresponding 'ACCEPTED' ADRs.
- Schema Impedance: Dependency on Markdown-narrative artifacts inhibits automated machine-to-machine alignment.
Principles
- Decisions Over Documentation: An ADR is the only valid anchor for system state.
- Continuous Participation: Governance must be embedded in execution, not scheduled as an event.
- Traceability Over Abstraction: Every architectural insight must link back to source evidence (Code, BRD, or AW).
- Human Authority: Automation proposes and detects, but the human architect governs and decides.
- Deterministic Derivation: Architecture state must be deterministically derivable from the decision log.
Emergent Heuristics
governance_velocity_threshold: A proposal-to-decision ratio exceeding 10:1 triggers a mandatory backlog triage event. completion_definition: A capability is not 'DONE' until it is represented in the Runtime Capability Inventory and backed by an 'ACCEPTED' ADR. authority_rule: The Architecture Work Registry is the primary authority for generated artifacts, provided its standing is maintained by an active ADR.
