Architecture Intent
Strategic Vision
- What we are building: An automated Architecture Intelligence Platform that connects Business Intent, Architecture, Implementation, and Decisions into an active operational feedback loop.
- Why it exists: To eliminate the systemic divergence between architectural intent and implementation reality by embedding continuous Prevent-Detect-Feedback governance directly into delivery workflows.
Project Context

Current State Alignment
The architecture operates under critical alignment pressure: evolution milestones in AEM have outpaced underlying ADR ratification (ALIGN-001), the active core orchestration pipeline lacks an authoritative ADR (ALIGN-002), and the planning backlog exhibits drift with 22 unprogressed proposals and placeholder data (ALIGN-003).
Focus Areas / Roadmap
- Phase 1: Governance Reconciliation & Backlog Hygiene - Reconcile AEM DONE states with source ADR/AW authority, ratify Core Orchestration Pipeline ADR, and purge placeholder entries.
- Phase 2: Continuous Governance Runtime - Operationalize the automated Detect-Analyse-Execute loop within CI to enforce CAS skill adherence and boundary containment.
- Phase 3: Business Intent Integration - Implement BRD intent signal extraction engines to establish verifiable business-to-ADR traceability.
- Phase 4: Architecture Intelligence Map & Knowledge Graph - Introduce cross-project lineage graphing and interactive AIM visualizations for system-wide impact analysis.
Gaps & Tensions (Risks)
- Lifecycle Desynchronization: Milestone completion reported in AEM while backing Architecture Work and ADR records remain in proposed states.
- Unratified Runtime Orchestration: Active production pipeline executing without an accepted, authoritative Architecture Decision Record.
- Backlog Inflation and Data Drift: High concentration of unprogressed proposals (22 of 30) and dummy records corrupting automated governance metrics.
- Traceability Blind Spot: Intent ingestion from business requirements and AST-based CI alignment enforcement remain unimplemented roadmap items.
Principles
- Extend, Don't Rewrite: Build upon proven CAS primitives (AW, ADR, AEM, AID) without discarding established governance baselines.
- Decisions are Central and Authoritative: All system evolution and runtime capabilities must align with accepted ADRs.
- Traceability over Abstraction: Every architectural claim and finding must be grounded in explicit, inspectable evidence.
- Human Architects Govern: Automation participates through analysis and proposal, but human governance retains final decision authority.
- Continuous Parity: System intent (AID), evolution tracking (AEM), and physical implementation (Code) must maintain continuous bidirectional alignment.
Emergent Heuristics
drift_containment: Trigger mandatory backlog triage when unprogressed proposals exceed 30% of total active planning items. lifecycle_integrity_lock: Do not advance an evolutionary milestone to DONE unless the governing ADR has achieved accepted status in the governance forum. runtime_authority_parity: Flag any capability executing in the runtime environment that lacks an accepted ADR as an immediate high-severity governance defect. evidence_boundary_isolation: Enforce target repository root isolation for all discovery and alignment operations to prevent cross-environment evidence pollution.
