Initial Discovery Flow and Alignment Baseline

Problem Statement

The baseline assessment identifies that the repository has strong foundational assets, including operational guidance, CAS skill definitions, prompt contracts, and knowledge templates. However, governance evidence has not yet been fully established from those assets.

The current state is template-ready rather than operationally governed. Architecture Work, Alignment Reports, Architecture Evolution Maps, and Architecture Intent evidence need to be produced through the lifecycle rather than remaining implicit in templates and guidance.

Why This Matters

Without an executed discovery and alignment baseline, CAS cannot reliably distinguish intended architecture from observed architecture. Drift detection, governance readiness assessment, and lifecycle progression all depend on populated governance evidence.

This gap affects governance maturity because downstream artifacts such as AEMs and AIDs need source Architecture Work and alignment evidence to summarize.

Expected Outcomes

The desired future state is an initialized governance baseline for ideas-to-life-cas that records the first cycle of discovery, Architecture Work, and alignment evidence.

Success indicators include populated Architecture Work, alignment evidence that can be summarized by governance artifacts, and clear traceability from baseline discovery findings into the architecture backlog.
