Operational Intelligence Loop for ReasoningOps and GovernanceOps

Vision Driver

The future vision positions ReasoningOps and GovernanceOps as continuously participating operational capabilities that convert conversations, implementation activity, architecture work, and governance signals into architectural intelligence.

Current State

The project has established Governance Foundation v1, governance-aware orchestration diagrams, and architecture work for CI skill enforcement. The orchestration flow also includes operational intelligence as a participant. However, operational intelligence is not yet defined as a complete lifecycle that consistently evaluates signals, recommends architecture evolution, and feeds governance refinement.

Desired Future State

CAS should continuously evaluate alignment between intent, implementation, patterns, decisions, and system state. It should surface governance drift, emerging patterns, capability evolution, and prioritized architecture work while keeping human governance authoritative.

Evolution Gap

The gap is a defined operational intelligence loop with clear signal sources, reasoning responsibilities, governance outputs, lifecycle states, and trust calibration. Current governance participation exists, but the future operating model requires a repeatable prevent, detect, and feedback loop.

Why This Matters

ReasoningOps and GovernanceOps turn governance from periodic review into lightweight participation in delivery. Architecturally, this improves the system's ability to reason about itself. Governance becomes adaptive because execution evidence can refine patterns and decisions. Operationally, teams receive earlier and more relevant architecture guidance.

Expected Outcomes

  • Operational signals consistently produce architecture intelligence.
  • Governance drift and emerging patterns are routed into Architecture Work.
  • Reasoning loops support prioritization of architecture evolution.
  • Human review remains the authority for accepting decisions and governance changes.

Dependencies

  • Governance Foundation
  • Architecture Work Registry
  • CI/CD governance signals
  • Alignment Engine
  • Operational intelligence artifact model

Vision Evidence

The vision describes ReasoningOps and GovernanceOps as capabilities for continuous evaluation, architecture evolution recommendations, governance drift detection, pattern refinement, trust calibration, and operational participation throughout delivery.

Define the operational intelligence artifact contract and map how prevent, detect, and feedback signals flow into Architecture Work, ADRs, pattern updates, and alignment reports.
