Vision Driver

The future vision positions CAS within enterprise architecture ecosystems and calls for a plugin or ingestion framework for BRD parsers, code analyzers, external system connectors, and knowledge platform integrations.

Current State

CAS currently has local knowledge artifacts, prompt-based workflows, runner automation, and diagrams showing LLM providers, CI/CD, code repositories, and runtime systems as adjacent participants. External enterprise architecture tools, source-control integrations beyond local repository workflows, and knowledge-platform synchronization remain future-facing.

Desired Future State

CAS should ingest and synchronize architecture knowledge across enterprise architecture management tools, knowledge platforms, source control systems, and CI/CD pipelines. New input types should follow a standard ingestion interface so external evidence can become governed Architecture Work, ADRs, patterns, maps, and intent.

Evolution Gap

The gap is a stable integration boundary and provider model for external architecture evidence. Current workflows are mostly file and prompt oriented; the future state requires governed connectors, synchronization rules, provenance handling, and lifecycle integration for external systems.

Why This Matters

External ecosystem integration prevents CAS from becoming an isolated repository-local architecture tool. Architecturally, it establishes clean boundaries for external providers. Governance improves because decisions and patterns can synchronize across systems. Operationally, teams can bring existing enterprise evidence into CAS without manual duplication.
